Pictures I just took...both kids...

Pictures I just took...Aiden

Not much new here...

Let's start with Emily. She is soooo smart! We were looking at animal pictures and she floored me when she pointed to and said bull and goat. WOW! I know she knows most of the animals, but those are not your average, every day animals that kids know. She also points to different balls and knows them: beach ball, base ball, and she also knows the game jacks. She is getting to be a smarty pants too. Yesterday, after her nap, I gave her some kisses on her cheek and she wiped it with her hand and said to me "Ewwww, gross Mom!" I almost died laughing! I also asked her where her banana was yesterday and she, with attitude tells me "In my mouth!" I tell ya, she is getting too grown up for me. She also likes to wake her baby brother when he is sleeping. We're going to have to work on that one because Mommy needs Aiden to sleep!!!

Speaking of Aiden, he is doing very well. He is almost 8 weeks old and his 3 months sleepers fit him, almost to the point of being too small. He is so big and thick, not fat. He is just a big boy! I'll have to post pictures of them both soon. Poor little guy is so gassy he wakes himself up at night to try to push and pass gas. We have him on special gas-reduction formula, and he gets Gripe Water before bed (what a life-savor that has been!!!!!) and that really seems to help him. Mylicon doesn't do anything for him. He seems to eat all the time and we're going through two can of formula a week. I don't think Emily ever ate that much formula. He's just a brute. He's going to be my football player: "AND NOW, STARTING AS CENTER FOR THE MN VIKINGS: AIDEN RUND!!!" LOL!

That's about it for now. It is colder than crud here in MN. When I got up the thermometer said 0.1 degrees outside...bbbrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

Oh, I thought of one more thing. Max and Smokey will be going to another home this week. We've been working with the Chihuahua and small dog rescue of Minneapolis to find them a new home. We just cannot give them the attention that they need right now, and they deserve a better life than living in our basement (fully finished, more like the house then basement), alone, locked in because they bark so much outside, or kennelled. It just isn't fair and they drive me insane all day long, so we've decided, for our sanity, the safety of our kids (Smokey growls and bites) that they were going to go to a new home. It will be sad, but it is for the best.

Another little blessing added to our family. :)

NO, NOT ME!! My sister is having a baby. She just called me last night. I hope she gets her little girl, as she already has 2 boys. I am excited too that Emily and Aiden will have a little cousin around their age. He boys are 9 and 7 now, so they are still young, but older then my 2. They sure play great with Emily though and she loves them to death.

I am also excited to see my thin, tall, blonde sister get fat, LOL!! (Oh, I am so bad!!) ;p

So, some time in Sept I will be an aunt again!!!

Even the most beautiful girl in the world has her bad days.

Yes, I am talking about Emily. What happened to my sweet little girl? The terrible two's are just that: TERRIBLE!, and terribly trying on mommy. She actually drove me to drink yesterday. Thank goodness for Tequila Rose. And, since I haven't had a drink of anything for almost a year, just a few little sips did the job. :) I also 'tried' to have some Merlot last night, my favorite, but it just wasn't in the cards. I have the individual bottles now and was trying to enjoy one while watching TV and holding Aiden, but I spilled it. The whole thing, down the couch and on our white carpet. I sure hope all that salt cleans it.

There is something about a toddler telling me NO!!!! that just tries my nerves, and she isn't even 2 yet. This is going to be a long year if the terrible two's continue.

On a good note, Aiden is 6 weeks old today (wooohoooo, the six weeks is up <::blushing::>) and he is doing so well. He has slept in his crib the last 2 nights and is doing really well with it. I am still in his room on an air mattress, and probable will be for a while. I just can't have him in his own room yet, alone, monitored or not. He just too precious and young. I was going to say little but there is NOTHING little about him. He is our little porker. Well, he isn't fat, just very thick and is weighing in at 14.5 pounds at 5 1/2 weeks. All I can say is Thank God he came early!!!

Sorry to not have posted in a while. Things have been busy here. Two kids, under 2 years old, and both in diapers really keeps you busy. I wish I had something to update you guys on, but it's the same old, same old here. Emily is now 22 months old and we are thinking about her 2nd birthday party. I think it will be the Dora the Explorer theme. She sure loves Dora!! Aiden is now 1 month old and doing well.

I hope 2007 is starting off well for you all.

Aiden is four weeks old today!

I know I've said it before, but I just don't know where the time has gone.

We are getting by pretty well. Aiden and I just started to sleep in his nursery last night. He was in our room before but there was too much pressure on me to keep him quiet (ya right, a newborn) so Bruce could sleep. So now, without that pressure he and I are both doing much better. I am going to have to start to let him fuss at night though because he is waking up to eat about every 10 to 30 minutes and falling asleep while eating, so this cycle continues. He needs to start eating enough to sustain him for a couple of hours. I'm not sure how to do this, but we'll figure it out.

Happy New Year!!!

I hope you all had a safe and happy New Years Celebration. We didn't do much. We had a few snacky things at home and watched some of Dick Clark's Rocken New Years Eve. Emily made it until 10:30, and Aiden was out at 11:30, so we were in bed at midnight, but I did manage to utter "Happy New Year" to Bruce at 11:59 when I woke up and saw the clock. How exciting is that???!! Oh well, we've been up way past midnight most other nights (thanks Aiden!) LOL, so sleep was more important.

Bruce is back to work today, and the kids are back to their normal routine. It was great having Bruce home for 11 days, but the kids get off schedule and get so crabby, which makes me crabby. And you all know, when Mom's not happy, no one is happy, LOL!!!

Today, by 9:30am, I've changed 3 poopy diapers (5 total diapers), given both kids a bath, fed Emily oatmeal, dressed them both, given Aiden 2 bottles, and now they are both playing nicely. Now, if only I could shower...later, when Bruce is home.

Happy 2007!!
